The 2000m or 2K test is something that every rower will have to complete at some stage in their training. The following steps will help you create a session within Rowers and see how the data for a 2k test is displayed in Rowers.

Creating a 2000m / 2K session

When you press create session on the calendar or via the plus button a slider will appear where you can fill out the details of the session. Complete the following:

  • Session Name: 2000m or 2K Test
  • Session Type: Ergo
  • Date: Select the date of the session
  • Total Time: 2000 (this is the total distance in the session, it can be more than 2000)
  • Session Focus: Test

Once you have completed these elements it should look something like this.

When you are ready go to the attendance section and add the athletes that you want to complete the test. When the session is ready you will be able to add scores for these athletes.

You are now ready to create the structure of the session. Here you will need to define the details of the 2000m.

  • Piece Type: Single Piece
  • Time or Distance: Select Distance
  • Distance: 2000
  • Split Length: 500 or 400 depending on preference.

Your screen should look something like this:

Once you are happy press the button update / create session at the top of the screen. This will create the session with the selected athletes and correct structure to now enter the data for the session.

Adding Scores

Go to the session you have just created and press on the add scores button. This will open a slider that will allow you to enter the scores for each athlete. It will look something like this:

Once you have added the scores and the splits foe each athlete it will look like the image below. We have automated calculation of watts from the ave. split entered, along with automated ave. split and ave. rate calculations based on the splits entered.

Pressing the save and view button will save the scores and take you to view the scores of the session.

Viewing Scores

Once the scores are entered the system automatically calculates the scores and orders them in graphs and tables for you. This makes creating a results sheet very quick and accessible anywhere.

Bar Graph

This shows the ave. split result for each athlete

Line Graph

If you entered split times for the athletes the line graph will show you the pacing of the athlete.

Table

Based on the scores entered a table is created that shows the rank of each athlete and the data that has been entered for them.

We hope this guide has helped you understand how to create a 2K test and the power that Rowers gives you to visualise the data.
